Lengthy Deals for New Duo
Wednesday, 31st Oct 2012 18:33

Town’s new management team of Mick McCarthy and his assistant Terry Connor will be joining the Blues on three-and-a-half year contracts, TWTD understands. Their appointments will be announced on Thursday with the duo taking control of Town for the first time when they face Birmingham at St Andrew’s on Saturday.

Former Blues skipper Matt Holland has been widely tipped for a coaching role but we understand that that the former midfielder, who played for McCarthy with Ireland, will not be on the new manager’s staff.

McCarthy was installed as an early favourite for the job vacated by Paul Jewell a week ago with talks taking place over the weekend and into the early part of this week.

Welcome Micky Mac and TC!

Let's all get behind the new management team and the players who want to put in the graft and lets get some points on the board.

As Yazz used to sing 'The Only Way Is Up'

COYB!

Guess it worked well for Newcastle to give their manager a long contract. Shows commitment and the players know there will be stability. Hopefully this will be a good move.

Hmm, Matt perhaps not on the coaching staff but in an administrative role ala Milton?

Club radio liaison? Club media liaison?

I would welcome this but just got a hunch there may yet be a twist to this story, purely just a hunch.

Pity about Holland as that would have given the fans a lift - but I'll take this thank you very much and look forward to a few bottoms being on the receiving end of boots.

Delighted - welcome to ITFC and TWTD Mick and Terry. Please sort out those in the dressing room that are shysters, and our defence as a matter of priority - cheers :)

Good news - £1 million bonus to keep them up. I thinks MM will do a good job in stabilising the team and getting results.
He will also ship out the dead wood and bring in some decent players.

If results are not good they could only be with us for 20 months so long contracts don`t mean anything.
