Burley Admits Bent Enquiry
Burley Admits Bent Enquiry
Thursday, 22nd Nov 2001 13:38

George Burley has admitted that he has made an enquiry about Marcus Bent. However, the Town boss added that nothing is finalised and that he has also spoken to other clubs about other players.

The Town boss said: "We have asked a number of clubs about a number of players - probably three
or four - and we have not agreed anything yet. If we can get something sorted by Sunday, fine, but I must stress there is nothing finalised at the moment. Injuries have left us weak and it would be good if we could get something sorted out by Sunday. But we will just have to wait and see."

Burley has previously shown an interest in taking Hakan Sukur on loan from Inter, while recently scout Simon Hunt watch Aris Salonica's Angelos Charisteas. Sukur said he was not interested in a move here while Charisteas was injured in the game Hunt watched, although he is fit again now.
