Campbell Could Be Recalled Claim
Sunday, 18th Nov 2012 13:04

QPR boss Mark Hughes could recall striker DJ Campbell from his loan at Town to cover injuries at Loftus Road, according to one of this morning's tabloids.

Andy Johnson is expected to miss the rest of the season with a knee problem, while Bobby Zamora may need hip surgery.

Hughes reportedly may decide to bring Campbell back from his three-month spell at Town, in which he has so far scored four goals in eight games.

Campbell wasn't included in QPR's 25-man squad but clubs can be given dispensation to draft players in in extreme circumstances such as an injury crisis. Otherwise, the 31-year-old could return when the transfer window reopens. His loan is due to end on January 5th.

However, with the West Londoners still to win a league game this season, Hughes may not be the man making those decisions at Loftus Road for too much longer.

Although he was pretty awful at Leicester along with everyone else we really need him. Don't know who else will get the goals we need.

January can't come soon enough, give McCarthy money and he will do the rest!

Hope he doesn't get recalled.... but if he does we'll just have to use a youngster or Chopra

chopra can score goals if needed, but marriot deserves a chance he has been banging in the goals recently and full of confidence

At least bring Marriot into the squad.

Lets be honest , this team needs getting shot of be it loan players like campbell and reo coker or bad signings like chopra and martin , we need to trust McCarthy to strip out this so called defence and get us some grafters and fighters in there , because it is the only way we will get anywhere near survival, he can make a start by restoring hyam to the midfield and getting young marriott used to the first team

This season just goes from one problem to another and to get this news is not good. I posted on here it will take a miracle man to get us out of the mess MM has been left with, and my goodness yesterdays diabolical performance confirms my belief. We have no decent goalkeeper on the books, a defence that could not stop a paper bag and a midfield of ageing has beens and players running down blind alleys. The whole squad needs completely revamping but unfortunately MM does not have the time to do this. What a complete mess we are in - good luck Mick hope you can save us but as he himself has stated it may go down to the wire. Peterborough match is so important now and with their attacking prowess I am worried. Yes they have a poor defence but our strike rate is abysmal.

DJ has done well - really the only loanee to date who has. Would be a shame if he was recalled - but for me MM needs to wipe the slate clean - starting with these hopeless loanees. Anyone brought in this week, will be a view to a permanent move I hope. Let;s send the dreadful Murphy and Henderson back - along with that hopeless CB from Stoke!

Phil any up date with sorting some of this minus lark. Its a fair comment to give Marriot a chance with the 1st team squad at least. Mayb a system that we can identify who gives a minus or a plus? Would make things very interesting.

Lucky we have self proclaimed 20 (or was it 30?) goal a season man Michael Chopra.

First post I've agreed with you in ages Jas. Higgnbotham is just another old has-been who Jewell was a fan of, of course. Murphy's just a lump in my opinion, and Loach needs to return in goal. Feel so sorry for MM, being lumbered with these rejects.

Would without doubt be a massive blow at this stage of the season if QPR recall Campbell. But seeing there performance against Southampton on MOTD last night, they look in even bigger trouble in the Premier League as we do and Hughes looks a dead man walking so I wouldnt be surprised if theres some legs in this story.

But we need to forget about things out of our control, our abject lack of fighting spirit and resolve again looks like it came to the fore which is always a recipe for relegation. MM knows this is the most important thing he has to turn around if were going to stay up.

Its a shame Loach is injured at the moment as I can't see any benefit we have gained from Henderson and perhaps Smith with Chambers in the middle with Higginbottom playing full back could be another option.

One things for sure, the next 3 games are massive, peterborough at home Saturday is huge. We need 3 points and that will take another performance like we had against Burnley which involves fighting for every ball and doing the simple things well.

Our goal difference looks like somthing out of a horror film right now which could really count against us later on in the season.

Back to feeling worried, however if we can build a run at home, it could well get us out of trouble

The more of this rubbish we ship out the better, especially the loans.

Don't worry Michael '30 goal' Chopra to the rescue...hang on yes I am worrying. Be a shame if DJ was recalled as he does pose a threat when he has the ball near or in the box and yes currently he does look the best of a bad bunch of loanee's.

Bring in Marriott or Murray
Marriot has been banging them in and on a good form, Murray has proven himself at lower levels and is a finisher with pace
hopefully Dj wont go but as he might stick Murray and Marriot on 1 month loans to get them match fit to a local club

I know none of us are particularly keen on loans, but it isn't the system, the loan system can be quite handy if used correctly and at the right times. We've just been naive, we've bought in outcasts or players who have barely played and are trying to get up to scratch similar to what Doncaster did last season when they got Habib Beye, Piquionne Chimbonda ect.... It seems that the players who do well in this division are those that are up and coming and want to prove a point. I.e Chris Wood at Millwall and they had harry kane last year who did well. Surely there are some decent youngsters at Arsenal, Man Utd, Man City, Spurs who have alot of promise and will come here and try their best. Charlton have been doing well lately because they've used the system quite smoothly. The thing is I dont think Mick will take this route because of his style, he wants wise heads and probably feels its too risky to do this. The point is in our predicument we need players who have a combination of work ethic and quality, not easy to find but surely we can be much more astute if we really look around, why do we keep going for rejects?

Those calling for Murray, Marriott, Scotland to be given their chance are missing the point. Ronaldo, Suarez or even Rhodes would struggle to get goals in this team! The fact is that since Keane, through Jewell and now Big Mick, the team does not create enough chances. I really hope that Mick has identified that the defence is lacking a tough old fashioned leader, oh for another Alan Hunter! There is a complete lack of flair and guile in midfield, add to that the complete loss of confidence no team has ever turned attack into defence as efficiently as the current crop!
I wish Mick all the best but I wonder if the great Sir Alex could turn this lot around?

Bad news if he is recalled, he has played well. This underlines the problems of having a team built on loan players, no stability. This is not the way to get promotion ,but is a big part of reason we are facing relegation .
