Campbell Could Be Recalled Claim
Sunday, 18th Nov 2012 13:04

QPR boss Mark Hughes could recall striker DJ Campbell from his loan at Town to cover injuries at Loftus Road, according to one of this morning's tabloids.

Andy Johnson is expected to miss the rest of the season with a knee problem, while Bobby Zamora may need hip surgery.

Hughes reportedly may decide to bring Campbell back from his three-month spell at Town, in which he has so far scored four goals in eight games.

Campbell wasn't included in QPR's 25-man squad but clubs can be given dispensation to draft players in in extreme circumstances such as an injury crisis. Otherwise, the 31-year-old could return when the transfer window reopens. His loan is due to end on January 5th.

However, with the West Londoners still to win a league game this season, Hughes may not be the man making those decisions at Loftus Road for too much longer.

Michael Chopra will score as many goals as Campbell in my opinion if like DJ he is played in a 2 as opposed to a lone striker which he largely has been thus far, Chops is as good as any striker in this division if utilised correctly. He will get his chance in the coming weeks and will take it, mark my words.

well if we are short on strikers, I'll have a go. Banged in four today, so cant be worse than what we're currently experiencing

I'm almost tempted to say 'let's back the Manager totally' and bring in the youngsters that are at the Club, and we feel have a future here.

At this point - whatever the consequences of doing so could not be worse than losing 6-0, 5-0, 6-0 as we have recently.

At least a re-building process would have begun, that a good Manager as we have now, would be in control of.
At the moment he doesn't know from one day to another who / what he has available to him - making it impossible to do anything other than juggle and hope for the best - thus everything having to be reactive as opposed to proactive.

A rock and a hard place springs to mind - but I have been predicting this fallout long enough, been criticised many times for it, and called negative more times than I remember.

But it's here right now - for EVERYONE to see - and real serious too.

Edmunds5. You say: "The point is in our predicument we need players who have a combination of work ethic and quality, not easy to find but surely we can be much more astute if we really look around, why do we keep going for rejects?" Well can I mention names like Hewitt, Marriott, Murray, etc, they have both of the credentials you ar calling for so the question is: will the big man have the guts to play them? Their self motivation will more than compensate for their lack of experience at this level and, at leastb our clubs name will not be dragged further into the mire. COYB

The frustrating thing for me is I honestly think we have the answer already at the club in Chopra. He seems to have totally lost his way and whether that comes down to his off field problems or a rank bad attitude remains to be seen.

Either way I think MM is going have to try to pick him up as he's a key player whether we all like him or not. It was noticeable MM picked him out for praise in the reserve cup tie in the week.

A lot of you boys on here are talking about this lad Marriot. I must confess I havent seen the boy play, I take it he has a good record in the youth team? Tell me more boys please.

Note Jordon Rhodes the most prolific striker in the fottball league over the last couple of seasons. Also banging them in at full international level. Trotter Captain millwall ,being watched by hald a dozen prem clubs. Macauly Mr consisten in a high performing prem club , Ledbetter captain of high flying Middlesborough. Delany ,class act for palace. I could go on , but my point is ,every single one of these players would walk into our side and improve it greatly. Andwe gave them away, which was purely down to poor management. The replacements have cost a fortune and are simply worse. There is alot to put right ,and its not going to be easy.

I need to speak to the club on Monday. I was driving back from Leicester and threw my season ticket out of the window. I went to palace as well.Seen 11 goals shipped. We are so soft its terrible. We have to plat 5 in the middle away from home.PJ had the away foromation sussed and we were ok. 451 AWAY 442 AT Home and we will pick up points.Murphy is not the answer. He is like a statue. Ilook at the movement of other strikers in this division and to me he looks Thurlow Nunn ,which i play in. Under 18s

Would be a shame if he went back but we do have Chopra as long as he gets his head right. I would be quite pleased in all honesty if most or all of the loanees plus Reo-Coker left this week.
Think we need to start building a team and team spirit which we cant do with players who dont want to be here or could be off any day

We have some good players at the club. REALLY . I know this might not sound so true at the moment but it is fact.
But there are also a few who I REALLY CANT BELIEVE still play for us.
It has been the same story with us for the last 3 or 4 years. We cant get a half decent keeper and a couple of half decent defenders.
Why on earth cant we address this I dont know.
The money has been there but no one from our last two managers sorted it out.
Its so obvious to see where we are lucking on the pitch.

As I said its been going on for to long with the same problems same mistakes same attitude from same players. Just get rid off them.

Im fed up listening the same post match interviews week in week out.
We have to sort it out ASAP otherwise WE WILL GO DOWN. Its going to be a disaster if that happens.

Im just like many of you here a very dissapointed and angry ITFC fan.

I see your point but disagree, just because they're our players and are promising doesn't mean we should just stick them in just like that. They are too raw, the kind of situation we are in is the worst time to throw in our players because there is a fear factor. Coventry did that all of last season and went down, I know we are not them but its an example. There are players who are young 20-24 but have premier league experience who we could take on loan and they could make the team successfull in the short term which is the most important thing right now, you cant just throw our kids in at the deepend, they were not bought in for that, they have to develop, we're in the relegation zone in the Championship not a mid table league 2 side. You could say they cant do any worse than the current bunch, but if it was me I would maybe give one possibly 2 of our youngsters a chance then try and get players in the loan market, shane duffy, hogan Ephraim these types then put Hyam and possibly Smith in or something but I'm sure Mick knows what he's doing.

Out of all the loan players we have Campbell would be missed the most as he seem to be enjoying playing for town and love scoring goals fo us.
The ruthless management from Roy Keane put us in this mess because he was very much like Alex Fergerson if you dare to argue with him you were gone.
Players like Rhodes and Garvan should have never been alowed to leave the club and they were sold for peanuts.
Keane got rid of most of the team that got us to the playoffs and replaced them with players not as good.
When Paul Jewell took over he looked alright at first and then he seemed to get nowhere with the team and ran out of ideas and his downfall was bringing in to many loan players who ended up getting him the sack.
Now poor Mick has took on a average team of players and somehow as got to get some points with them till the tranfer market open and then he can get shot of most of them and build his own team
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU MICK.
WE HAVE FAITH IN YOU.

i dont know the reason but i have been told town fans cant stand David Nugent.
If somehow Mick went and signed him in the tranfer market would the fans prefer him scoring for us rather than scoring against us.
This guy loves scoring goals at portman road
Interesting to hear some of your veiws on this.

irishtim, it's not about who give minus points, it's about posters, whoever they are, agreeing or disagreeing with posts. Identifying who gives what would just lead to unnecessary "witch-hunting".
