McCarthy: I Expect Players to Uphold Standards
Monday, 26th Nov 2012 06:01

Manager Mick McCarthy says he expects his players to keep to the club’s code of conduct during his time as boss. Over the last couple of years several members of the Blues squad have become involved in well-publicised off-field issues.

McCarthy said: “There’s a code of conduct which was here when I came. They know my standards and I expect them to uphold them as decent human beings.

"If they fall beneath them, then I guess the club has policies to deal with that.”

In terms of off-field matters which happened before he came to the club, he added: “It’s a bit difficult, I walked in three weeks ago and things have happened that I can’t really do anything about or affect. All I can affect is things going forward.”
