Loach Scouts for Football League Kids Cup
Wednesday, 28th Nov 2012 16:00

Town’s Scott Loach shows exactly why he’s a keeper and not a striker in a short film made to promote this season’s npower Football League Kids Cup. Loach, Curtis Davies of Birmingham City and Bolton’s Kevin Davies went scouting for local talent to take part in this year’s Kids Cup.

With more than 5,000 participants last year, the national schools U11 football tournament has gone from strength to strength with the final played at Wembley Stadium prior to the npower play-off finals.

Schools compete locally for the right to represent their local Football League club before going on to compete against other schools on their road to Wembley.

Great to see some of the football leagues development projects having some form of impact. Having worked on some at other football clubs it makes such an impact on the youngsters lives, once they have been exposed to the club and have a positive experience whether it's meeting the players or getting to kick a ball on the pitch on matchday - this is the way to get the younger generation to become lifelong supporters of the club.

How is loach a terrible keeper? he didn't play for england u21's for being bad did he? he is a good keeper who will only get better but with people being so negative they don't give players a chance 1 mistake (cardiff) and suddenly he's the worst keeper alive? haha

These are the sort of things football should really be about off the pitch.
