Campbell Yet to Talk to Redknapp
Monday, 3rd Dec 2012 10:42

Striker DJ Campbell says he’s yet to speak to new QPR manager Harry Redknapp about his future. The 31-year-old, who has scored six goals in 11 games while on loan with the Blues, is due to go back to his parent club after January 5th.

"I haven't got a clue about QPR yet. I haven't spoken to Harry Redknapp yet but I'm sure when the time's right we'll sit down and talk.

Now I'm just trying to focus on Ipswich and push us up the league," he said.

With strikers Andy Johnson and Bobby Zamora both sidelined with injury, it’s highly like that Redknapp will want the frontman back at least for the short-term while he looks to add to his striking options during the January transfer window.

Boss Mick McCarthy has already confirmed that he wants to sign Campbell, whose QPR contract is up at the end of the season, on a permanent basis, while the player himself says he’d be interested in a full-time switch but not another loan.

Just look at the joy on his face when he score goals.
DJ Campbell loves playing and scoring goals for Ipswich and i think he will sign for us in January but the only stumbling block could be the wages but i am sure that will be resolved.
If Mick could sign a class twenty goal a season man to play up front with him and that would be great to.
I for one cant wait for the tranfer market to open.

talbs77. no, of course i wasnt there nemore than you or ne of those wanting to blame him for not signing players were. but it doesnt take a genius to know that when negotiations over a transfer break down, it is invariably due to the terms of the contract not being agreed between all parties involved, whether thast be wages, length of contract or signing on fees, bonuses, etc. the point i was making was simply that clegg has no control over these things, thats totally down to m. evans. clegg just passes on that info. and as for your comment about players wanting to sign for burnley? i was talking about a specific case, charlie austin. its pretty much common knowledge that he wanted to play for eddie howe again, and thats why, despite having agreed terms with us the previous day, he then signed for burnley. and what the hell have wags gotta do with anything? i certainly didnt intend, by the way to insult ne of you who just seemto want to make clegg a scapegoat for nething that doesnt work out at the club, but just get frustrated by the groundless criticism thrown at him. at the end of the day, i dont know if hes a good or bad ceo, and if someone came on here with concrete evidence that hes doing a bad job, id probably join you in saying he should go. all i do know is, as i said before, hes completed the signings of more players in the last 5 years than any of his predecessors, so he cant be quite as bad as some of ypou seem to think he is.
