Return Trip to Fortuna Düsseldorf Planned
Return Trip to Fortuna Düsseldorf Planned
Monday, 7th Jan 2013 15:13

In the wake of the Fortuna Düsseldorf fans joining the Town support for Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Aston Villa, plans are afoot for a return trip.

Organiser Dave Loudnproud tells us the plan is to take a bus to Fortuna’s home game against FC Nürnberg on Saturday 11th May (KO 3.30pm local time).

The bus will depart the Drum and Monkey on the Friday evening, catching the midnight ferry from Dover. The return ferry will be the 6pm crossing on the Sunday. Full details to be confirmed. The price per head, including matchday ticket, is £90.

Anyone interested should make contact with Dave here as soon as possible. Photos from a previous Fortuna trip can be viewed here.

Very good price have paid more to see Ipswich play away in this country! I sharnt be going this year as I have Exams in may but would be bang up for it in the future. Be nice in a few years time to be able to take a few coaches like they do for us! Great support and very friendly people

The better bet would be Harwich to Hook overnight.

My Friend and I travelled up with them on
Saturday and we were treated like Kings.
Top People -
They were even provoked by some Villa hoodlums
but never stopped cheering for Ipswich -

flashblue that's the one I always take (going the other way), but it would probably almost double the price...

My Granddad dropped something off in Dusseldorf once. Took him only 4 hours round trip.

Mind you he was in a Lancaster. 1944 I think it was.

I'll be there...the Altstadt with the Blue Army after the game!

@ Phil - Kick off is 15:30 local time rather than 14:30

Düsseldorf Heh?......So that expalins why, outside the Witton Arms, some of them looked at me like i was a dick. I was shouting 'Dortmund' at them.

Re The Witton Arms. What a delightful pubgarden. I'm seriously thinking of taking my mum there for lunch.

You could combine Düsseldorf´s game with a visit of the 2.Bundesliga match between 1.FC Köln and Hertha BSC Berlin, which takes place in nearby Cologne on the following day (Sunday) at 13.30 local time. In both stadiums a really good atmosphere is guaranteed. Just a recommendation.
