Nouble: Feels Right Working for McCarthy at Town Thursday, 17th Jan 2013 06:00 Much-travelled Town new boy Frank Nouble has played for some of the biggest names in football management. Gianfranco Zola snapped him up for West Ham and both Brendan Rogers and Roberto Di Matteo signed him on loan on behalf of Swansea and West Bromwich Albion respectively. Ipswich’s Mick McCarthy is the latest big-name boss to recruit him and Nouble said: “All these managers saw something in me. I’ve got people around me now who will keep encouraging me and hopefully it will all click into place. “It feels right being here. You can look at my record, see all the different clubs that I’ve been at and think about it in a negative way. But it’s not all been bad and I like to think about it as progression. Now I’m here I want to work hard, get in the team and stay in.” Nouble has packed a lot into his 21 years and is honest enough to admit: “I’d have liked to have done better but I think that applies to every player. “I don’t have any regrets and I’ve learned a lot over the past few years from a lot of different people. I’m still in a happy place and I know I can contribute a lot. I just want a chance to play regularly between now and the end of the season and I know it will stand me in good stead. “There is competition with Aaron Mclean and David McGoldrick also coming in but that’s football and you just have to keep working away. If there is competition it can improve you as a player. “I’ve been described as a target man but I like to think I’ve got a lot more mobility. I’ve got pace and power — that’s the very minimum you will get from me. “But it’s not about talking; it’s about getting out on the pitch and showing everyone what I can bring to the team. I can play wide if required. "That’s something I have done throughout all the age groups so whatever the manager wants from me I will be doing my best to deliver. That’s why I’m here.” Photo: ITFC
