Nouble Out to Make an Impact at Big Club Town
Thursday, 17th Jan 2013 06:01

He might have to swot up on his historical knowledge of Ipswich but there’s one thing that Frank Nouble does know about his new employers.

At 21 he cannot recall Town’s glory days but he is old enough to remember they graced English football’s top flight with their presence at the beginning of the century.

Nouble, who made his Blues debut as a late sub in the 0-0 draw at Cardiff on Saturday, said: “I know they have been in the Premiership — that’s one thing I do know. Also, it’s a big club and when I was a youngster at Chelsea I used to come here and play. I remember the massive training ground.

“I’m here now and I just want to concentrate on making an impact, showing people what I can do. I’ve been out on loan to a number of clubs and that says a lot about my eagerness to play football. Also, the fact that so many clubs wanted to take me shows I have something to offer.

“What I want to do now is stay at Ipswich for a longer period and really get my career going. I’m not looking to go anywhere for a long time. I want to dig in and get Ipswich moving up the league table.

“It’s important we build on the good form of the last couple of months since Mick McCarthy became manager and hopefully I’ll be involved. I’ve signed an 18-month contract but I hope to do well enough between now and next year to extend it and stay here even longer.”

Both Nouble & McGoldrick seem very confident in their abilities! Shove them both up top v Barnsley & let them do their thing!

He talks himself up. I'm concerned though that many Wolves supporters (from their forums) are amazed that they actually got a fee for him.

McCarthy must rate him from his time at that club.

Considering McCarthy was sacked 6 months before nouble signed for Wolves, I highly doubt it

Feel Frank is another JET has the potential just need the someone to help him reach that.

We have the coaching staff you can do this but a lot will be down to Frank and think that is why he has only been given a 18 month contract.
Plus point for Frank is the fact his attitude seems better than JET so he is in with a chance of becoming a big hit at town.

Think it's time for JET, Chopra and Taylor to leave town now that we have McGoldrick and Nouble and with a little luck Campbell

Neither Nouble or McGoldrick have looked Championship class when I've seen them play let alone Premiership. Just wonder whether they've got the touch for this level. However they've got all the raw materials other than that and MM and Connor are certainly good coaches so who knows.

If Harry Rednapp had become manager, I could imagine Frank saying to him "know what I mean 'arry" That would've been very Bruno-esque. OK OK I'll get my coat.

Karlosfandangal 'Taylor to leave Town' already? Were you at any of the games he played before he got injured? IMO He genuinely looked like he had the potential to be one of the best signings of the last 5 years or so. And it is such a shame he got injured when he did because he gave us something extra.

Granted hes had some off the pitch issues while hes been injured but i cant wait until hes fit again for the new season. Hopefully he can continue where he left off!

Karlosfangdangel!?! Taylor to leave the club?!? You truly to know nothing about spotting talent so should stick to listening to your radio on a Saturday afternoon as you couldn't have ever seen the lad play.

Isn't there a chance Paul Taylor will spend next season at her majesty's pleasure? It could be the view about him likely to leave is that if found guilty ITFC will probably sack him? Although if not guilty then yes I agree he could be a good player for us.

gazznac4 and ipswichtillidie

I agree he is a great talent and yes I have spotted that, However Dalian Atkinson sums up my point.
Why if he is such a talent did Peterborough want to get shot of him so quick.
Lost £5 on a Taylor bet as I live in Peterborough and a Posh fan bet me £5 there would be an off field problem with Taylor before the year was out, now everytime he see me he say told you so.

Chopra and Jet are also a talent

With all due respect it sounds like a saturday night punch up (broken rib, black eye) How long do you honestly think he will go down for even if he is found guilty! I suspect he won't be doing anytime at all. Looking forward to seeing him in a Town shirt thou asap pls

@Karlosfandangal are you alright? I personally can't wait to have Taylor back playing. Why would you get rid of him when he's played 3 games, in all of which he was a breath of fresh air amongst that abismal side that PJ put together.

Taylor has great acceleration and dribbling ability as well as an eye for goal. I hope Mick plays him on the wing where he would give us an extra dimension and finally provide us with goals from midfield. Then we can sign and play Harry Forrester on the other flank, who will also add plenty of pace, goals and assists...

Yes i am alright thanks lol.
My point is not about his talent and I agree with your point.
Did he not have off field problems in Belgium and came to Engalnd and then off field problems with Peterborough and now off field problems with Ipswich.
Chopra is one of the best strikers in the game but not at present as his mind is not fully on football, will Taylor be the same, we will only find out when he starts playing for us.

I hope he becomes a Town legend but if there is always going to be problems then its best to sell the player. Dont know the full ins and outs of the problems only what you read, but 3 games and even Finidi George had 3 good games............... only time will tell

I hope he proves me wrong for the good of the club

Karlosfandangal, OK fair point regarding off the field problems, I agree that we don't want those stories surrounding our club. But we paid 1.5M for the guy, so selling him now would be of no benefit whatsoever to us financially. Plus, who better to ensure good behaviour both on and off the pitch by his player than McCarthy, I don't think his off the field problems will be an issue for much longer, especially once he gets playing again. He's probably very frustrated at his situation at the moment. I think we need to focus on him as a player, and, from what we have all seen so far, there are only good things about his play. He's ideal for us on the wing, along with hopefully Forrester as @DanLyles mentioned. To be honest, I'm just glad that Ipswich Town are now making headlines, primarily with stories of great signings. Enjoying what MM is doing here.

Also, and slightly off topic, I had a strange dream last night. I was watching Town, and somehow found myself on the sideline shaking hands with McCarthy, telling him he was doing "an absolutely fantastic job". He smiled, then said, "are you sure you want to shake my hand, I've just done a big sh**". Where that came from I have no idea.

ipswichtillidie I understood that he was arrested on suspicion of GBH, this carries a lengthy jail term if found guilty. Please don't trivialize a very serious offence.
