Marcus Stewart has emailed us to thank TWTD visitors for their get well wishes posted in the Town Topic over recent weeks. The Town striker says he's been frustrated, but hopes to be back in action in four-and-a-half weeks.

Stewart wrote: "I would like to thank you all for your support. The last week or so has been a frustrating one for me but it is just one of those things you have get on with. It requires more mental strength on my part to get through this four-and-a-half weeks."

But it's not just mental strength that he is building: "But the good thing is that I can work on other bits of my fitness, ie more weights than normal and the worse thing is that I can still do my fair share of running because, although I am not allowed to play any competitive football for the next month, I am still allowed to do other things from the 29th November."

When he does finally return he says he'll be in peak condition: "I know that I will come back a fitter and stronger player than before. AND we will be mid-table by then so all the hard work would have been done by the rest of the team! THANKS LADS! But seriously I think that you would all agree that it is the lads who are playing that need the support more than I do. Thanks again for your messages of support."

Stewart is expected back in contact action in early January while Town's other major injury victim Finidi George could be fit for the Newcastle League game on December 9th.
