Thompson and Sheepshanks on Life's a Pitch
Friday, 18th Jan 2013 20:49

BBC Radio Suffolk’s Life’s a Pitch is live over Saturday lunchtime (midday to 2pm) with presenter Mark Murphy joined by the show’s regulars, Blues legend Kevin Beattie, football’s youngest pundit Tractorboy and TWTD’s Phil Ham. Former Town and Barnsley left-back Neil Thompson and ex-Blues chairman David Sheepshanks will also be appearing on the show.

Will Town beat Mick McCarthy's hometown club Barnsley, if the game escapes the weather? Will Town's new strikers take over where DJ Campbell left off?

Add your thoughts on those questions or anything else via email, the programme’s Facebook page, Mark’s Twitter or during the show by phone on 01473 212121 or text to 81333 starting your message with SFK.

The show can be heard on 95.5FM, 95.9FM, 103.9FM and 104.6FM or online here. Last week's programme can be heard here.

Oh my goodness - that nappy salesman from Scarborough (oer was it Boston, Lincs.) had a corner up his sleeve, the like of which we have never seen since, or are likely to see again. And I am someone who saw Clive Woods in his pomp
Who can forget Phil Whelan heading in from one of his deadly corners in our 1992 promotion years at Sothend. Them were't days (amongst others)

Was right behind the goal when Whelan scored at Southend and Thommo curled one in in added time. Warky had missed a pen as well.

Whelan, iirc, then scored at PR a couple of days later.

Without playing great we went on a run of six (?) successive victories, including a number of last minute wins (Southend, Watford, Wolves....) which took us up as Blackburn faltered.

Some of the happiest days. Always felt like something might happen when Neil stepped up to take a corner. And don't even get me started on Micky Stockwell...
