Wordsworth Thanks Well-Wishers
Tuesday, 19th Feb 2013 11:29

Midfielder Anthony Wordsworth has sent his thanks to well-wishers after he suffered three cracked vertebrae which could keep him out of action for the rest of the season. The 24-year-old clashed with Blackpool keeper Matt Gilks during the first half of Saturday’s 1-0 victory over the Tangerines, his full debut for the Blues.

Wordsworth, who was released from hospital yesterday, tweeted: “Thanks for your best wishes, I'm in safe hands with ITFC. I will be doing all I can to come back fitter and stronger.”

Meanwhile, the midfielder’s former side Colchester’s U21s will be at Portman Road on Monday to take on the Blues’ second string in a rearranged game (KO 7pm).

I have just suffered a hernia so I sort of know how you are feeling right now Anthony.

Keep taking the painkillers and the laughing gas and we look forward to seeing you in an Ipswich shirt again before the seasons end.

We don't often have somebody out for a whole season, nevermind 2 of 'em.
Oh well, guess it was our turn. These 2 will be like new signings next season.

We seem to have terrible injury luck with new recruits!
Luca, Taylor and now poor Wordsworth.
Will be like new signings in the summer when Taylor and Wordsworth are fit.

No wonder we only sign loanees!! lol

Best of luck Anthony with your recovery.
