Nouble Back for Easter Fixtures
Wednesday, 27th Mar 2013 11:36

Striker Frank Nouble is fit and in contention for the Easter fixtures against Leeds and Millwall, having missed the 1-0 home victory over Bolton before the international break with a minor hamstring injury.

Nouble told the club site: “Obviously it was frustrating for me to pick up the injury and then miss the Bolton game but the lads were terrific to get the win at home.

“The injury has cleared up now and I’m back in full training. It’s another big game for us against Leeds on Saturday and I want to get back in the side and show people what I can do.”

Central defender Tommy Smith was back at Playford Road yesterday having been rested for the second of New Zealand’s two matches after they confirmed their place in a World Cup play-off via the first.

Leeds boss Neil Warnock says he hopes to have strikers Steve Morison and Ross McCormack available for the Easter fixtures after calf and head injuries respectively.

“With any luck they’ll train with us tomorrow,” he said. “They’re both pretty close and Steve’s been doing a bit of running so his calf’s improving. He’ll be touch and go for Saturday.

"It’s a busy time with two games in 48 hours so we need everyone available.”

Good news, looked the best player for us against Peterborough. Seemed to glide past defenders as if they weren't even there. Hopefully get a goal and finish the season high on confidence

Thanks for that info Mark.
Its interesting to note that several of these play each other so we could put some daylight between us and them. Four points would be v good for us.
I fully expect it to go to the last Saturday though and it wouldnt surprise me if all three slots were still up for grabs.
What price Posh win their two easter games, its a crazy league but thats why we love it.

Only seen him at Peterborough but he was by far our best player there so glad to have him back in the squad! I think given the right service him and McGoldrick will get goals for us.

Nouble was good at Pboro in terms of making chances for himself but just needs to work on that final execution- he could have bagged a hatrick and should have scored atleast one but I feel with a little bit of mental strengthening he can turn into something quite prolific- he just needs to open his account first

Give Chopra a start. Still the best striker we have if 'on song' available in my opinion.
Nouble to come on and score a hatrick thereafter with a Chopra assist! Happy Easter.

Agree with Tractastic , Chopra should start our best finisher by a long way if given service .Nouble looks like he could be a good signing in the future and big impact off the bench at the present ,but like all of our new strikers they need to add goals to their games
