Foreign Interest in Chopra
Sunday, 23rd Jun 2013 09:20

Blues striker Michael Chopra is a target for Turkish side Bursaspor and Russian club Spartak Moscow, according to a number of this morning’s papers. Chopra was told he could find another club at the end 2012/13 despite having a year remaining on his contract at Portman Road.

The 29-year-old has repeatedly said that he's in no hurry to leave Town but with his opportunities likely to be limited with the Blues in the new season, may well be up for a switch abroad if either club - or any other suitors - firm up their interest.

Elsewhere, the Blues are again reported to be targeting a loan return for West Ham keeper Stephen Henderson, as TWTD revealed last week.

Titus Bramble’s training return to Town — as reported here yesterday — is claimed to be the possible precursor to him rejoining the Blues by one paper, however, it seems more likely that the 31-year-old — a free agent following his release by Sunderland — will be picked up by a Premier League club.

Ex-Blues loan striker Tyrone Barnett is a target of Millwall in the wake of Peterborough United’s relegation to League One.

Neither team is far enough away. Any chance we can drum up some interest from one of the teams in the newly formed league on Neptune?

Could be a good move for Chops, a fresh start, and we might actually receive some money for him too if he goes with a year still on his contract...I honestly don't think he will be up for it tho...what I really want is Mick to sit him down and say look, if your not up 4 the move, then next season I was 100% from you, I want you back to your best. No stupid incidents, no gambling, no horse race fixing, no bad publicity for Ipswich town football club, just pure commitment and goals. if you can do that then im more than happy for you to stay...

if he gets any kind of offer from a equivalent level club, he has to take it, one year on from now after sitting around for the reserves, he may be £500k better off but he'll never play at a decent club again.

after all he has only ever scored 20 goals in a season once, and last year he saved us with his three (inc one penalty)

actually from the way he has been playing he might be better to take the money and retire and open an online shop selling beady hand bracelets @ £50 a go.

Walberswick he scored 5 last season, 4 in the league, and none of them were penalties.

Can't see him going abroad, for the reason that has already been mentioned, he'd never see his son.

What I'd love Mick to do is sit him down and give him a real talking to, man to man. Few home truths, and try and get him to knuckle down if he really is set on staying. Head straight, in a confident team making chances he could shine once again. He looked like he might go back on a run last year when he came back and scored against Blackpool, but that rather fizzled out despite some good performances.

Let him sign for absolutely anyone for free. Just get this man out of the club and use the wages to bring in one or two good players who want to be here for the right reasons!

He'd be out of his depth with either of those clubs - won't happen (unfortunately).

Budget airlines fly to Turkey how about TWTD running a sponsor sheet for the fans who I'm sure would contribute to his ticket....close the door on the way out

Can't see him pulling on a Town shirt again, but given the fact he has a son can't see him living in Moscow either.

Moscow would suit him. For the reasons most people would know.

You can see why no one from the board or stands at Cardiff was bothered about him moving on. What a waste of space this bloke truely is, he has done nothing in an Ipswich shirt along with others but at least they have enough respect not to insult the fans and club. Evans should of let the blokes who were after him grab hold of him and see how confident and cocky he would of been face to face instead of him hiding behind his twitter account as he usually does. Been to Ladbrokes lately Chopra???? Stevie wonder could of caused more of a threat upfront than him last season, nevermind Nouble and McGoldrick next season no use for Chopra now unless we use him as half time entertainment i think he would fit the role of a CLOWN quite well!
