Broadfoot Still Talking to Blackpool Wednesday, 26th Jun 2013 12:44 Blackpool boss Paul Ince says the Seasiders remain in talks with out-of-contract defender Kirk Broadfoot, who is also understood to have been offered terms by the Blues. Broadfoot, 28, has been linked with Town since March, having previously been mentioned in connection with a move to Portman Road when he left Rangers last summer. The Scotland international, who like former loanee Richard Stearman plays at both right-back and centre-half, is understood not to have joined the Tangerines squad for their pre-season trip to Portugal but Ince says discussions are continuing about the defender extending his stay at Bloomfield Road: “I’ve spoken to Broady and we are still in negotiations with him.” On Monday, Blues boss Mick McCarthy played down his interest in Broadfoot, although the Town manager is notoriously tight-lipped when it comes to transfer targets. Meanwhile, former Blues coach Sean McCarthy has been appointed the first team coach of Plymouth Argyle. McCarthy, who left Portman Road shortly after Mick McCarthy took over as manager, was previously a striker at Home Park and was based in the South-West prior to joining Paul Jewell’s Town staff.
