Town Close to Completing Veseli Deal
Thursday, 18th Jul 2013 14:00

TWTD understands that Town are close to completing the signing of former Manchester City and Manchester United defender Frederic Veseli. We understand terms have been agreed with the free agent and that the 20-year-old is set to undergo a medical this afternoon with the deal likely to be confirmed later today.

Veseli, who plays at right-back, centre-half and in midfield, joined up with the Town squad at their training camp in Ireland where he impressed manager Mick McCarthy.

After briefly being sidelined by a hamstring injury he was back with the squad again at the weekend and played for 45 minutes at right-back in Tuesday’s friendly at Gillingham.

A Swiss international at U15, U16, U17 and U18 levels, Veseli joined the Red Devils from rivals Manchester City in January 2012.

He was previously a youth player with hometown club FC Renens and FC Lausanne-Sport. He is yet to make a senior appearance for any of his clubs.

Meanwhile, former trialist Dan Seaborne is set to join Yeovil on a two-year deal, according to reports.

The ex-Southampton man played in Town's friendlies at Shelbourne and Crawley but moved on to Huish Park earlier in the week and was in action for the Glovers in a friendly against Torquay on Tuesday.

Speaking after the Gillingham game, manager McCarthy said: “He had other options as well, so that’s just the way it is. Not all of them work out.”

Sorry blue moon. I've got a season ticket. You've got a season ticket. Who else has got a season ticket? Raise your hands! Right, everybody who hasn't raised their hand, you all go and stand in the moron corner. Honestly! Clegg Out! Bobby Petta blows hot and cold. Clive Woods should get a haircut. A prize to the TWTD stalwart with the most off-the-point comment.

There are known unknowns; that is to say, there are things that we now know we don't know.
But there are also unknown unknowns — there are things we do not know we don't know.'

@Bergholtblue

Totally agree with what you said to that muppet. However, you corrected him on his grammar when you actually spelt it wrong yourself too. It's 'their' opinion, not 'they're' haha!

@Bluemoon, your comment that to be a season ticket holder to be a 'full time' supporter of the club that I, and many others, hold so dear is insulting.

Many of us, including me if you'd actually be so inclined to look at my username, live across the country. The sheer thought of attending home games is absolutely financially un-viable for me, as both a student and someone who lives halfway across the country. The same can be said for many others of the frequent, but no less dedicated, frequenters of this site. Does that makes me any less of a fan?

But do not get me wrong, every time I pass your small hole, where I can only imagine you compile your small minded views, i'll doff my hat.

Oh, and in a completely related manner. Veseli would be a fantastic signing.

P.s. you do know nowadays 'bluemoon' refers mostly to Manchester city. So shouldn't you be appearing at their games? And ridding one Suffolk village of there local idiot? At least for one, joyous day.

Wonderful to bring philosophical thought to the pages of TWTD. I wonder if you've set a trend.

It is a great shame we are still not able to attract any players of quality ( M Allen you are so right ) as we exist in such an out of the way area that I begin to feel it is a waste of my season ticket money supporting the team !!!!

Just felt the need to log on purely to "like" BergholtBlue's post! - well said sir!

Everyone is entitled to an opinion on any topic. Kind of the whole point of a Supporters website is it not?

Otherwise TWTD would switch off the option to "add a comment" unless you provide a season ticket / proof of a permanent tattoo of the town badge on your body etc.

ps. I have a season ticket..... but even if I didn't I'd still post my opinion. Football is all about opinions, that's what makes it great. the fact you can chat for hours in the pub about it and the reason we tune in to listen to pundit talk about it!
