Strong Early Interest in Academy Association
Wednesday, 31st Jul 2013 18:24

Academy sponsorship manager Simon Milton says he’s received more than 100 emails since the launch of the Academy Association yesterday. The former midfielder is charged with raising £500,000 annually as the club moves its youth set-up to Category One.

Milton told the club site: “Since the launch of the Academy Association yesterday, I’ve had phone calls and emails, over 100 emails in fact, from people who want to get involved.

“I’ve had businesses contact me, long-term sponsors contact me, and individuals contact me. They want to invest in the academy and that’s great news.”

You can read elsewhere on TWTD what Milton, academy director Bryan Klug, Luke Hyam and Tommy Smith, and Kieron Dyer think about the future of the academy. You can also see more on Ipswich Player below.

Meanwhile, former trialist Bongani Khumalo has joined Doncaster Rovers on a season-long loan.

Elsewhere, Reading's ticket office has 300 tickets remaining from the additional allocation released to Town fans earlier today.

That looked like a good lunch Jonathan Symonds had, judging by the still on youtube.

I've registered my interest, i'd rather throw £5 a month at the development of youth than my useless lottery tickets.
