Vote Mills in Greatest Skipper Play-Off
Tuesday, 27th Aug 2013 16:00

Blues legend Mick Mills has reached the final five in Prostate Cancer UK’s search for the Football League’s greatest-ever captain.

Prostate cancer results in 10,000 deaths every year in the UK. So this season Prostate Cancer UK, the official charity partner of the Football League, is asking fans to put aside their differences and become Men United in the fight against the disease.

To lead Men United, they're searching for an inspirational figurehead - the Football League's greatest captain.

TWTD was in little doubt about Town’s all-time top skipper when we were asked — Mick Mills. You can read what we said here and you can find out more about Men United here.

The first round of voting closed last week with Mills, Bolton’s Nat Lofthouse, Leeds legend Billy Bremner, Millwall’s Paul Robinson and Scunthorpe’s Archie Gibson the top five captains through to a play-off.

A leading football writer has given their backing to each of the contenders, telling the nation why they should vote for their choice of skipper.

John Cross of the Daily Mirror is fighting Mills’s corner. You can read his piece and register your play-off vote here.

No disrespect to Scunthorpe or Millwall but neither of those two players should be in the run in

If Only Keegan had scored that header against Spain in the World Cup in 1982 :( You never know we may went onto win the world & Mick Mills would have lifted the trophy. That would have been another proud moment for this club.
