Carson Can Reignite Career Elsewhere Wednesday, 4th Sep 2013 14:39 Academy director Bryan Klug hopes released midfielder Josh Carson will reignite his career elsewhere having left Portman Road earlier this week. The 20-year-old’s contract, which was due to run to the end of the season, was terminated by mutual consent on Monday. Klug told Town’s official YouTube channel: “It’s always frustrating when somebody perhaps doesn’t reach their full potential at your club, but everybody is different. “Josh may go away now and play 50 or 60 really competitive games and who’s to say he won’t come back stronger and go on to have a terrific career somewhere? “Sometimes it just takes a change of environment or a different voice to reignite the player and you can see them kick on again. “I can think of hundreds of players who have been in the same situation and come back stronger elsewhere, and perhaps Josh just lost his momentum here a little bit as he wasn’t playing as often as he was when he first burst on the scene. “Hopefully he can rediscover that somewhere else and go on to have a great career.” Carson, who was on loan at York City during the latter stages of last season, made 18 starts and 15 sub appearances for the Blues' first team having come through the academy, scoring five goals. As the Northern Irish international left Town prior to the transfer window’s closure, he is now free to join another club at any time. He has recently been on trial at Bristol City, Notts County and Hibs.
