U21 Match Now Behind Closed Doors
Tuesday, 24th Sep 2013 16:44

Friday's U21s friendly away against West Ham United will now be played behind closed doors. Initially the match was to be open to the public.

Speaking at the end of last week, boss Mick McCarthy was expecting left-back Tyrone Mings to play in the game as he continues his recovery from the knee injury he suffered at Reading on the opening day of the season.

“He’ll play in [the U21s] game next week," he said. "He needs to train a bit more [before he’s ready for first-team consideration].

“But he looks great, he’s in great shape, his knee’s no problem, I’m delighted to have him back.”

Apparently due to it being an afternoon game rather than in the evening, which I assume means it's down to WHU not wanting to put staff on for a game where there'd only be a handful there.
