McCarthy Names Unchanged Side at Derby
Tuesday, 1st Oct 2013 18:51

Boss Mick McCarthy has named an unchanged team for the third successive match ahead of this evening’s game at Derby County.

The only switch in the 18 is Tyrone Mings’s return to the bench in place of striker Jack Marriott, who drops out.

The Rams, who will be watched by new boss Steve McClaren, who takes charge tomorrow, hand a debut to defender Zak Whitbread, who joined on loan from Leicester yesterday.

Derby: Grant, Smith, Buxton, Whitbread, Forsyth, Davies, Bryson, Hughes, Ward, Sammon, Martin. Subs: Deeney, Lowe, Hanson, Bennett, Eustace, Jacobs, Russell.

Town: Gerken, Chambers, Berra, Smith, Cresswell, Anderson, Hyam, Skuse, Tunnicliffe, Murphy, McGoldrick. Subs: Loach, Hewitt, Mings, Edwards, Tabb, Wordsworth, Nouble.

4-0 town I'm going for, too optimistic, who cares! Although I'd settle with a point and get 3 at the weekend. COYB

Lee and Marriott off, Mings on? Doesn't that leave 1 more place?

It looks like Derby have gone for 4-4-2, with Davies on the left, and Ward on the right of midfield. Davies is not a natural winger, whereas Ward is. Craig Bryson and Will Hughes are quite a lightweight midfield pairing.

Sammon up front could be a handful, but many of their fans would have expected Johnny Russell to start ahead of Chris Martin.

HarryfromBath. What would be interesting is to know what the forums of the opposition thought about the games after we have played them. What did Brighton fans think on Sat about the Town play? And what will the Derby fans think!!??
