Taylor Makes Penultimate Posh Appearance
Sunday, 27th Oct 2013 18:00

On-loan striker Paul Taylor played the full 90 minutes as 10-man Peterborough United lost 1-0 at Colchester on Saturday. The 26-year-old was making the seventh start of his spell back with Posh and played a whole game for the third time.

Taylor rejoined his old club in order to get matches under his belt following his long absence due to a foot injury with Peterborough striker Lee Tomlin missing for a month with an ankle problem.

Tomlin returned to the Posh attack alongside Taylor at the Weston Homes Community Stadium but faces a three-match ban having been red-carded in the 54th minute for catching Colchester midfielder Craig Eastmond with an arm.

Taylor will complete his loan spell next week when Posh — who are down to third in League One — face leaders Leyton Orient at London Road.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old left-back David October played the full 90 minutes for Histon as the Stutes beat Stockport County 2-1 at the Glassworld Stadium on Saturday.

Elsewhere, academy first-year scholar Cemal Ramadan was an unused sub as the Republic of Ireland U17s beat hosts Armenia 2-0 in the second game of their UEFA U17 qualifying mini-tournament in Yerevan.

The Irish youngsters will now finish at worst second in the group — the top two qualify for the next phase — and face leaders England on Tuesday.

Sadly not scoring! and that is what we need... a prolific goalscorer. Maybe he can be that creative midfielder we are also missing?

When did he last score a goal?

Many people on here demanding he play for town, he goes to league one and does not set the world on fire. Hope he can come back and play for us but another example of where people comment on what they dont know.

no goals in 7 games for a top of the table team, i cant wait until he comes back to town he is going to rip up the championship and get us promoted all by himself.!!!Ive said it before and i will say it again PATHETIC PLAYER he was a last throw of the dice by mr jewel a desperation buy.(the funniest thing was i remember jewel admitting that his side at the time lacked height ,he them promptly went out and wasted 1.5m on this dwarf

Wish we'd have got Boyd instead at the same time.

With Tomlin out for at least 3 games (he could face a further charge for his antics after his sending off) it would not surprise me if Taylors loan is extended further.

Was at the game, as ippy were away and Taylor looked very good, you can see he is too good for League1 however he is was a little too unselfish, he passed so many times when he could and should have shot, but he looks fit again and wouldn't mind seeing him back playing for ippy ASAP, was funny when Tomlin got sent off, Ferguson had to hold him back from assaulting the lino

When he comes back, he should be sitting on the bench for all of the matches judging by how much praise he's been getting from Mick!

7 games in league 1 & no goals..doesn't fill me with much confidence i'm sorry...

Shame we never gave the likes of JET (yes I know he's lazy but knows how to hit the target) & Ed Upson more of a chance,eh?

looks like we bought a dud and an overpriced one as well

we now have a team lacking any pace or creativity, and with MM we are completely predictable.

miss the rush of blood seeing JET go on a run or a shot. was worth the ticket price alone.
