Ferguson: Taylor Sharper and Fitter
Ferguson: Taylor Sharper and Fitter
Wednesday, 30th Oct 2013 14:38

Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson says striker Paul Taylor is “sharper and fitter” for his seven-game loan spell back at London Road. The 26-year-old, who had been out for 11 months with a foot injury, was recalled from his stint with Posh earlier today and will be in the Town squad facing Barnsley live on Sky at Portman Road on Friday.

Ferguson told Peterborough's official site: “Mick [McCarthy] came to the Sheffield United game last week and has watched all of the DVDs involving Paul and you can definitely see he is a lot sharper and fitter, and that is what Ipswich were looking for when they allowed him to come out on loan.

“Paul has done well for us, but we knew there was a chance they would recall him earlier than the full month and that is what has happened. I have other options in terms of team selection for the weekend at the club.”

Taylor was due to remain at London Road until after Saturday’s home match with League One leaders Leyton Orient.

Still amazes the lack of faith some people have in our manager.

Lets hope he can turn it on against Barnsley.

Little point in recalling him early if he is not to play a part on Friday!

@TWTDPhil

Have you tried using your site on an iPad? Highly annoying with those advertising banners flashing up constantly on the bottom & blinking through the middle. Can you just keep it to the sides, please?

Does this mean no place on the bench for Marriott ? Nouble has offered so much all season ,he has to be there !!
No more excuses for not playing Taylor MM , Murphy has not scored in last 6 ,change the forward line and the centre midfield ,home to a bottom side lets attack them

Surco72...did he not score twice at Derby, 4 games ago?

He will be on the bench, which is right if MM feels Murphy has show enough in the last couple of games.
