Hewitt Out for At Least a Month Sunday, 1st Dec 2013 15:29 On-loan right-back Elliott Hewitt’s spell with Gillingham has come to a premature end with Gills boss Peter Taylor revealing that the 19-year-old will be out for at least a month with a fractured ankle. Hewitt, whose time at the Priestfield Stadium was due to end on December 14th, missed yesterday’s defeat to Rotherham, having picked up the knock in the victory over Stevenage in midweek. Taylor says Hewitt and another loanee, Preston’s John Mousinho, are both set for spells on the sidelines: “That’s a bit of a blow for us and we’ve been unlucky with him and for Elliott Hewitt. They could be out for at least a month, if not more. “[Hewitt] has a little bit of a fracture in his ankle which I think is an old injury so I think he’s going to go back to Ipswich for treatment. “One thing is for sure, Elliott is a fit young man who can run around all over the place and you need a bit of that.” Wales U21 international Hewitt made three appearances during his spell with the League One club.
