Loanee Returns to Villa
Tuesday, 31st Dec 2013 19:17

Loan winger Jordan Graham has announced that he has returned to his parent club Aston Villa. The 18-year-old was due to remain with the Blues until Saturday, although was unavailable for the FA Cup tie with Preston.

The former England U17 international tweeted: “Sad to announce my loan spell at Ipswich is over. It’s a great club and has helped me mature loads on and off the pitch.

“I honestly do hope they get promotion. I'm positive they will! But back to Villa for me! I've missed it, man!

“Thanks for all the support of both sets of fans. I couldn’t do it without you! And I wish you all a happy new year! God bless you all.”

Graham made sub appearances late on in the Huddersfield and Doncaster victories having joined Town at the end of November.

Seems a sensible, thoughtful footballer. Shame not to see more of him in his month here though.

Seems a bit of a shame but being in and amongst the squad off the pitch would have helped him develop. All the best to him.

very rare for me to put a negative post on here, but what a total waste of time it was getting this guy in on loan, maybe hes gained something from it but at the end of the day, weve paid his wages for the past several weeks and hes played about 5 mins of football in the 1st team. why bring some1 in if hes not gonna be used? especially as he seemed just the kind of player we lack, a quick winger. this kind of player gonna be neede even more if we're going to get the best out of ebanks blake too.

Have to agree with blues1 - hardly saw anything of him, have to admit I thought MM wouldn't start him but what was the total time he had on the pitch with us? can't have been more than 20 minutes - I feel if Villa were playing better at present they would have extended his loan with us but they're not!
All the best any way in the future fella.

MM had him in to add depth to the squad during a busy Christmas period. Luckily we didn't need him and got an excellent return of points since his arrival

Really not keen on loanees. The Paul Jewell years put me off. Much rather have our own in there. It worked for us years ago when Jim Magilton came on loan and subsequently signed, but taking on premier league reserves who have no intention of signing permanently just doesn't add up to me. I know Tunicliffe is doing Ok but he'll never be one of our own so I'd still rather have Wordsworth or Tabb getting game time.

blues! - ..... absolutely right, proved to be a totally pointless exercise for us as a Club - but just the type of player we needed, and still do.

Not so sure he has gained much from it either.

Not totally pointless. We have now forged a link with the boy and Villa that could be well used in the future, think more long term guys.

Sending him back now will mean mm has a bit more money to play with in the transfer window

Scuzzer - .... I think there is more of a chance we have pi**ed him off by not giving him more game time - his words ' I've missed it man ' aren't the best of vibes.

Blueboy- so MM Should have played him more? , and dropped which member of the team that are seven unbeaten? I agree with gcasselton, he was brought in to cover injury or if we needed to chase games over a hectic Xmas period, fortunately we needed neither. But hey don't let that stop some of you missing out on a chance to whine.

Actually if you think about it, since he joined we have been unbeaten. Even if he didn't play much, it would have given some other midfielders or maybe even Nouble a kick up the bum to start playing better. Therefore MM had no reason to change the team doing well. Happy New Year everyone!

Anybody else get the feeling he asked Mick if hes playing tommorow and when Mick said no he decided to go home and enjoy New years eve? I wouldnt blame him tho we are only young once

Could have been given a little more game time, but not that much probably with the team on such a good run. Probably would have got more if we'd been on a losing streak, so I guess it's just one of those unfortunate things.

McCarthy is a clown. The sooner he leaves this club and feeds his premiership ambitions elsewhere the better in my H.O.P.

yes guys,i agree with those of you making the point that since hes been nher weve been on a good run of results, thus mm hasn't changed the team. however, the one thing that has stood out like a sore thumb all through this run, has ben the total lack of width and pace in the side. while results have been great, the football has been poor and while im not unhappy with way things are going, obviously,i cant say im exactly enjoying the style of play. having someone out wide with genuine pace, would, imo, greatly improve the style of football we play, presuming we got the ball to him that is.

I wonder if he would have come here if he knew he was only going to play around 20 minutes? he might have had just as much time on the pitch during that month at Villa, and let's face it they need new faces or to try different ideas just of late as they have been woeful. Anyway I don't know whether the player has that much of a say in such matters.
