Willbye Nominated for Goal of the Month
Thursday, 16th Jan 2014 09:09

Academy midfielder Jack Willbye’s 45-yard stunner during Town’s FA Youth Cup tie with Sunderland has been nominated for the December 2013 U18 Academy Leagues Goal of the Month award.

Second-year scholar Willbye’s strike put the Blues in front in the first half but the Black Cats equalised after the break and eventually went on to win 4-2 on penalties.

You can cast your vote for 17-year-old Willbye’s goal here.

Without being biased, that is by far the best goal of the lot too. He's about 45 yards out!!

Very good goal. So was the Blackpool one, which just shades it in my opinion.

It doesn't matter which one is best. We're suitably biassed. However it's either best or second best with respect to the two Blackpool scorers. But the voting is very 'Eurovision'. It's about bias and getting people to vote. At the moment the leaders are:

GOAL A: Matthew Cotton LINCOLN CITY v Wigan Athletic 11.56% (165 votes)
GOAL B: Jack Willbye IPSWICH TOWN v Sunderland 34.76% (496 votes)
GOAL C: Jack Taylor SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY v Crystal Palace 9.6% (137 votes)
GOAL J: Sullay Kaikai Fulham v CRYSTAL PALACE 29.43% (420 votes)

The Palace goal isn't really a contender but it's the only one that can beat Willbye's effort.
