Ticket Promotion for Wigan Game
Monday, 10th Feb 2014 20:02

Fans buying matchday tickets for the home game against Birmingham on Saturday 1st March will be entitled to a £5 discount for the match against Wigan Athletic at Portman Road on Saturday 15th March.

The promotion is the first of a number of ticketing initiatives the club plan for the remaining games this season.

Tickets for the two matches don’t have to be purchased together to qualify for the discount. More details on the club site.

Any promotion is welcome, although £5 is a small discount. Birmingham is Band B and the prices for the Wigan match have not yet been announced on the website so it is £5 off an unknown price!

Good to see the club doing ticket promotions! Hopefully if we are still lingering close to the playoffs at the end of the season and they still do promotions, we will see a rise in attendances!

Five pound may be a small discount but it's somthing I suppose.us season ticket holders don't get any discounted tickets or perks.

The fact is that the ticket prices are still far too high for the standard of football. You can go to some Premiership games for less money than ITFC charge. Until that changes attendances won't ever increase to an acceptable level.

hm... I'll never forget match vs Middlesbrough being called off a while ago and then being offered no refund followed but instead money off the replay...which i couldnt then go to, and thats my whole family not just me so we lost some reasonable money. And we were so going to win that game :(

£5 off if you were planning to go to both games anyway is worth having, but I'm not sure they'll attract many new faces with such a pathetic offering.

I do understand that gate receipts are the lifeblood of the club under FFP and that cheaper tickets does not necessarily mean a big enough boost to attendances to offset the shortfall in income. The fact remains that many are squeezed out of going to football however, with debacles during Simon "Paintbrush" Clegg's reign (like the one John_Portman mentions above) doing far more harm than good.

Simply put, the club must do more and must get it right.

Also why are they grading games in the Championship?! The league's so competitive that we never know who's going up and who's going down. I'd be interested to see how they grade the teams

Another poor ticket promotion.

Attend two games to get £5 off? £2.50 off per match.

You can stick it.

Probably not. I hate to think what the club will charge for that.
