Taylor Starts But Williams Missing
Saturday, 1st Mar 2014 14:25

Paul Taylor replaces Stephen Hunt in an otherwise unchanged Town line-up but new loan signing Jonny Williams is missing from the 18.

The Palace midfielder, who joined on a month’s loan on Thursday, picked up a minor knock in training.

Town look likely to line-up 4-3-3 with Taylor as part of a front three with Daryl Murphy and Frank Nouble.

Town: Gerken, Chambers (c), Cresswell, Smith, Berra, Skuse, Green, Tabb, Taylor, Murphy, Nouble. Subs: Loach, Anderson, Hunt, Wordsworth, Mings, Richardson, Ebanks-Blake.

Birmingham: Randolph, Robinson (c), Martin, Macheda, Novak, Packwood, Zigic, Lee, Spector, Caddis, Huws. Subs: Doyle, Burke, Ibe, Howard, Shinnie, Adeyemi, Blackett.

I was hoping for Taylor upfront with Murphy. With Hunt and Anderson giving width. (And so much for the Williams era... Shame!)

The prospect of seeing Williams was the only thing that excited me about today. Dull lineup bar Tayls. Tabb?!

Strong squad? Lol, average at best and MM is performing miracles to get this club where it is ATM, we need 4-6 strong signings this summer to move forward and get to the premier league! Still hope we win today... COYB!

Tabb doesn't warrant a start, its as simple as that.
Come on Taylor! Keep your place in the side.

My palace mate said Williams was injury prone…
Oh dear.

Chance now for Tabb and Taylor to prove themselves. Tabb would surely have lost his place to Williams so this a bonus game for him. Taylor really needs to play well today.

No Williams is a big blow. Think everyone was looking forward to having an exciting player in the line up, which is probably why McCarthy has opted for Taylor to play in his absence. Match days just don't have the same spark as they used to anymore, or is it just me??
