Cresswell Back as Smith, Anderson and Ebanks-Blake Suffer Niggles
Thursday, 17th Apr 2014 14:22

Boss Mick McCarthy says Aaron Cresswell will be fit enough to return to his regular left-back role when the Blues travel to Watford on Saturday, but says Tommy Smith, Paul Anderson and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake all have niggles.

Cresswell missed last week’s victory over Doncaster with a groin problem but McCarthy says he’s now OK and will be in his team at Vicarage Road: “Cressy’s fine, he’s trained fully today, no problems at all.

“Tommy’s not trained yet, he’s got a sore calf and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake’s got a tight hamstring but I expect Tommy to be fit anyway.”

Midfielder Anderson also has a tight hamstring but is thought more likely to be involved than Ebanks-Blake.

The former Wolves man's probable absence is likely to be what has led to Jack Marriott's 24-hour recall clause being utilised. The 19-year-old striker had been at Skrill Premier Woking.

Sounds like Tommy will be fine THANK GOD. Need all our defenders fit if we want any chance of making the play offs. Shame about SEB thought he looked really sharp and dangerous against brightin so hope he's fit, if not, step up Taylor

Massive weekend.

Lots of Noise for the Tractors Boys- if you feel inhibited - have an extra prematch pint or 4

Who would we play if Tommy isnt quite fit enough? Push Mings alongside CB or move Chambo in and put Richardson in at RB?

Could work either way i suppose! Fingers crossed that Tommy is fit though obviously! COYB's

Just pray we don't produce one of our away from home, Leicester or Boro type performances. We need to be at it from the start against a very good team in Watford. I actually think this is our toughest remaining game - not saying that Burnley will be easy but by the time we play them they will either be up or chocking like you wouldn't believe.

It's strange, as I'm sitting two places from someone who moans all the time I start to only see the bad aspects of certain players. I guess if you look for bad you'll always find it, it seems certain players (Nouble, SEB, Hyam) have to play blinders to avoid criticism yet others can make a few mistakes and will be cheered nonetheless.

At this stage of the season with something to play for each game is as tough as the next .
This is not a happy hunting ground for us - bar Chopras late late show
need to start fast and watch Deeney who is a menace

I heard mings played well last game, would like to see Cresswell left wing and mings left back, think eventually Cresswell will move forward

Don't risk SEB. We may need him.

If Smith is not fit then obviously put Chambers into CB with Berra and Richardson in his natural position as RB, not a problem!

* Should also say it would be a loss if Smith is not fit as he's been very consistent this season.

Wonder if this is a bit of disinformation? Can't see why we'd announce this to Watford two days in advance.
