Willbye Up for Goal of the Season Award
Thursday, 29th May 2014 19:20

Academy midfielder Jack Willbye’s 45-yard stunner during Town’s FA Youth Cup tie with Sunderland has been nominated for the 2013/14 League Football Education Goal of the Season award. The goal won the LFE's Goal of the Month award for December.

Second-year scholar Willbye’s strike put the Blues in front in the first half but the Black Cats equalised after the break and eventually went on to win 4-2 on penalties.

You can cast your vote for Willbye’s goal here.

The Blues have offered the 18-year-old midfielder an additional year on his academy scholarship.

Yep he's some way in front. That Kane Farrell goal for Southend was handy enough too.

Great goals (especially Willbye's), but could have done without that music over the top.

Brilliant, Beckhamesque. Stunner. Look at the Sunderland midfielders reaction, I don't think he believes his own eyes
