Rotherham Confirm Richardson Signing
Friday, 27th Jun 2014 13:51

Newly-promoted Rotherham United have confirmed the signing of former Town loanee Frazer Richardson on a two-year deal.

The 31-year-old spent the second half of 2013/14 on loan from Middlesbrough and made three starts and four sub appearances for the Blues.

The right-back was released by Boro at the end of the campaign, while Blues boss Mick McCarthy had said he would consider whether to offer the former Leeds, Stoke and Southampton man a permanent deal over the summer.

Richardson, who was born in Rotherham, joins former Blues keeper Scott Loach at the New York Stadium.

I thought Richardson did okay when he played and was good cover for Chambers. Also did reasonable in a midfield role. But overall, not concerned that we haven't re-signed him. Think we need to spend the wages on a more attacking and pacey midfield option. We also have Hewitt and Veseli who can play in his position.

Think Hewitt is a better prospect at right back than Richardson

Agree. Hewitt 'should' have strengthened out on loan last season. What a prospect!

Agree with above posts, would like to see Hewitt given a decent shot.

Rotherham have made some decent signings, but they have signed a lot of players too - easier said than done to make them into a team in 2 months?
