Easy Decision for Henshall
Friday, 27th Jun 2014 16:05

New signing Alex Henshall says it was an easy decision to join the Blues having been released by Manchester City.

The 20-year-old, who has signed a two-year deal, which also includes an option for a third season, spent the end of the last campaign on loan at Portman Road and broke into the matchday 18 but without making it on to the field.

“Ipswich was always at the top of my list when I knew I would be moving on and it was an easy decision for me to make,” the former Swindon trainee told the club site. “I spoke to my family and my agent but it was a no-brainer really.

"I know the lads from being here on loan and they are a great bunch. I know what the manager wants from me and I like working under him and with the club moving forward in the right direction, everything felt right.

“I can’t wait to get going now and hopefully force my way into the team, either in pre-season or during the season. The gaffer has given me an opportunity and now it’s down to me to take it.”

Just what we need. A young, quick winger. Welcome Alex, you're now a Tractor Boy.

Why is he trying to rip the shirt in half?

When there's an option for a third season, does that mean the player has that option or does the club have it? i'm never quite sure.

Of course it's an easy decision when it's either being unemployed or earning a couple of grand a week with us! I doubt he got any other serious offers being a relative unknown so far.

But I shall join in with the rest of you to welcome him to the club and I hope he turns out to be a good player for us. The sort of signing we want to be making - young and quick, with potential. BTW - New shirt looks good!
