Veseli Joins Port Vale On Loan
Tuesday, 29th Jul 2014 12:04

Defender or midfielder Freddie Veseli has joined League One Port Vale on a half-season loan, subject to the paperwork going through. The 21-year-old former Swiss U21 international looked well down the pecking order at Portman Road and recently spent time on trial at FC Luzern.

Veseli, who will remain with Vale until January 4th, joined the Blues on a two-year deal after a trial last summer following his release by Manchester United, having previously been with Manchester City.

His only appearance for Town was in the Capital One Cup defeat at Stevenage and he spent much of last season on loan with League Two Bury.

Has looked ok in pre-season. Good move for him though.

Good news, step up from Bury into league 1, hopefully makes a name for himself there and then perhaps works his way into our side in the future. Does this now mean he won't be in the squad tonight?

Not a bit surprised by this but lets hope this move will make him a better player.
I have my doubts as the Championship is a different ball game to Div 1 or 2 but hope I'm wrong.

I assume this is the transfer news ? Squad made weaker

Don't think we'll miss him and presume he'll have a recall clause if there's a crisis. I'd imagine we'll bring in a loanee to replace him in the squad.

A decent squad player but let's face it,it's going to take a bulldozer to shift any of Chambers,Berra,Smith,Parr,Hewitt or Mings for first team places this season..as i've said, the defence is looking excellent,I wouldn't swap any of the above for any other championship defenders.

Around 11:30pm the club tweeted "TRANSFER UPDATE: News of transfer activity to be announced on the Club website at 12pm". After a half-hour wait of eager anticipation wondering who we were signing, we read Veseli is going out on loan! :-)

Well, it's a step up from League Two and he's still only 21 so maybe he can do well and get back in contention for ITFC although it does seem most likely he will leave at the end of his contract. He has a chance though, so best of luck to him.

So the already small squad, down on last season, is now even weaker.

Assume new signings will arrive this week?

I would much rather have seen Nouble out on a three season loan, preferably to some team down in oz land, the further the better!!

This is a shame in my view, because he looked very tidy playing in midfield against west ham. Hopefully he does well at vale and then can come back and have more of a role in our squad. Still think we need to be bringing people in, instead of letting them go.

Has he ever played in the league he's obviously not got it according to he who knows so I won't think twice about him maybe this gives one of our own a chance maybe it gives us a chance of a good loan signing from p/l what's the point in having players that can't cut it at our level he hardly set bury alight last year hopefully Taylor will follow him out the door

Glad he's going to get some football, don't think he's quite ready to force out anyone in our midfield or defense. He clearly has something and I hope he can be where Marriott is now in 6 or 12 months. Good luck Freddie

Lets face it he isn't going to get much first team action and MM bemoans the standard of the "reserve" matches . So this can only be good for the lad. Shine, and he can come back into contention, failing that it may be better for all concerned if he moves on.

Good Experience for the lad, can see him making a name for him self in the lower leagues and showing his true talents there. untill then wish him the best of luck at Vale.

Am I wrong but didn't he prove popular at Bury, plus by most accounts from those that watched him against West Ham he looked more than able in midfield.............unfortunately not with the qualities that are preferred in our midfield,
ie; protecting our dainty back four from nasty attack minded opponents, Still we have a new lad out wide who should be able to provide all that's needed going forward to keep us up till he learns how to grow a beard & do all the dirty things that are required in this league. Lets just hope Port Vale don't play to much football or his time there will be wasted.

Jason0999 - ......... don't assume anything - we're talking ITFC here.

On another note - not taken Norwich long to get in on the act with setting up PLayer Development Centres in Bury St Edmunds, Stradbroke and Whitton.
ALL across our patch effectively - and what can we do to counteract that without Cat 1 ?? - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Now perhaps my critics will start undertstanding just how important CAT 1 was / is to us.

Are we setting up Player Development Centres across Norfolk, or anywhere else for that matter, in similar fashion ....... NO.
As a Club we need to get off our ass post haste - and I hope ME is beginning to understand the potential of Cat ! to us for the future ........... before it's too late !!.

bad move better option than some who are still here,,when are we going to use the Cressy money the managing director said MM had to spend?

blueboy1981 added 15:48 - Jul 29
............. unfortunately another lad who doesn't 'fit MM's bill' - this lad is very, very capable and should at least be in our currently weakish squad.

whats the point of a cat 1 when the present managment release them or send them out on loan??.
2

blueboy1981 added 15:57 - Jul 29
tractorboybig ............. fair point .......... what this Club needs is to get back asap to the basics of what made this Club great. 'Developing young Players ' - AND USING THEM - on a much larger scale than recently and currently.
Bryan Klug needs to be taken notice of - otherwise he will be off back to the Premiership again - without US.

We may want to have a Cat 1 academy but I don't think McCarthy is committed to a youth policy he would rather recruit seasoned cast offs and loan players. He wants to run a first team and small(ish) squad he appears to have little interest in the Club outside his first team squad. He may say otherwise but his actions say different.

If you read the comment on BelsteadCavs thread about his son's experiences it can be seen just how pitiful our local scouting and recruitment of potential future players is.

Not what my club is renowned for - shame that.

Minus 6 for wanting Nouble sent to Oz land, surely you lot can do better than that?
and while i,m here someone please explain exactly what big Frank brings to the team? he still could not hit my garage door at ten paces with a wet cabbage, ............a complete waste of a town shirt!
Some may say that i do not rate the guy! hmmm as if! and yes i,m entitled to my opinion!!

blueboy1981 added 17:18 - Jul 29
karls dad ............. you've overlooked one all important thing :- MM rates him extremely highly, and he's obviously a favourite - therefore he plays.

Personally other than his running, and threat in closing Goalkeepers down, I tend to agree with you.

I think he has potential for more, but needs serious Coaching to produce more.

TimmyH added 17:48 - Jul 29
Oh look there goes one of Mick's 'options' - I take it Hewitt defo won't be going out on loan now this has happened...or will he? as mentioned small squad has just got smaller.

Fat_Boy_Tim added 19:03 - Jul 29
Wow, what a lot of positivity in the above comments! I trust MM to pick the best team he can and to spot when players need games here or to go on loan. If youth players are good enough they will get games, simple as. The sentiment on this forum towards some of the players is absurdly skewed from that in the stands and the fan base in general.

Nouble gets a massive cheer every time he plays and you'd think he's hated from the posts on here.
Hyam is loved as he's one of our own but gets stick on here all the time.
Marriott you'd think was our top scorer being mysteriously left or loaned out.
Veseli who's only ever played in a defeat to lower league opposition is now the new Matt Holland.
Gerken who had as good a season as any keeper in the division last year, needs to be relegated to the under 18's

and it goes on and on and on and all because 7 or 8 posters can't see past the fact that they hate MM and ME. I think they're great, I like the way the club is going and I'm really looking forward to this season.
