Danish Midfielder Joins Academy
Monday, 18th Aug 2014 12:48

Danish midfielder Victor Guldbrandsen has joined Town’s academy ranks as a second-year scholar.

Guldbrandsen, who has signed a two-year pro deal, was previously with Lyngby in his home country and spent time on trial with the Blues and French side St Etienne last season.

The 17-year-old central midfield player, who featured in the recent U18s friendly victory over Norwich and scored in their pre-season game against Colchester, has been capped once by Denmark at U16 level.

Meanwhile, next week's U18s game with Crystal Palace has switched to Playford Road from the Eagles' training ground (KO 11am).

Great, the Danes are a hard working and technically decent footballing nation. Claus Thomsen springs to mind!

Welcome Victor!

For those who are wondering what he said in the tweet, it is "A dream come true" (courtesy of Google translate).

Splendid welcome young Goodbrandson!!!! Obviously knows a quality one when he sees it.

Great too , to see that we stole him from under the noses of Platini's St Etienne. Will nver forget the pi$$ed off look on his ugly face when he crapped a corner kick in front of us after hearing the Churchman's roar.

Apparently his attitude resembles the one of a certain Nicklas Bendtner, which is why he had to leave Lyngby at the end.

But he's still young and he has got some talent, so worth giving him a chance.
