Wigan Game Moves to Monday for Sky
Thursday, 28th Aug 2014 10:35

Town’s game at Wigan Athletic has switched from Saturday 20th September to Monday 22nd September and will be shown live on Sky (KO 7.45pm).

The match will be the the Blues’ third live Sky appearance of the season with the Fulham game and the Norwich derby also having been screened.

The move means Town now have five evening away games in the Championship this season, in addition to seven at home, eight including the Fulham match on the opening Saturday, which kicked-off at 5.15pm.

Haven't Sky realised yet that we are a rather unattractive mid-table hoofball team yet? Won't be long before we are back to one game shown live a season

After just one game a season for what feels like a decade, it's good to see Sky finally giving us some air time. Let's not embarass our selves like we did against the scum!

Agreed. Lets hope we actually turn up this time around!

I don't think it will be too exciting to watch from a Town fan point of view.
Might have more fun improving on my Cross-stitch therapy course, whilst relaxing by a warming fire and a mug of cocoa.

Jimmyjazz- they're probably showing it more because of the lure of Wigan than the lure of us

Wigan usually reduce ticket price for games moved. I recall paying £10 for last seasons trip as they were in Europe. Be good to see ITFC reduce coach prices but the northern support of ITFC is as always excellent.

They're just using up our quota early so they don't have to show us later in the season, when the teams that are actually going to be involved in the promotion race or relegation scraps can be shown. Clever scheduling by Sky.

This has fecked me right up. Had a hotel booked in wigan on the Saturday night. Sky can feck off. Changing 3 weeks before a game is ridiculous.

I've yet to find a pub that shows sky championship football, especially when we're on.

Agree RGP1. Was about to book advance train tkts as I travel from London. Not fair on those who have booked travel/hotel, as not always poss to get refund.

Can't be worse than our last match on Sky can it?

Grrr. Had advance train tix and non-refundable hotel booked for Fri night. Might do the trip and go to Bury or Fleetwood Sat instead!

Without being biased, Wigan vs Ipswich on a Monday evening wouldn't really appeal to a neutral. Can't imagine they'd be getting that many viewers (Ipswich and Wigan fans aside).

I just moved to Madrid so I am hoping to find somewhere here that will screen it. Anyone happen to live in Madrid and know if it is likely to be on in a sports bar somewhere?

If any Town fans are based near Rethymnon in Crete would be grateful to know of any bars/restaurants that would be likely to show the match.

Ludicrous to move a game at such short notice. With non-refundable advance rail tickets and a hotel booked for two nights I could be over £200 out of pocket here.

Not that Sky give a hoot about real football supporters if course. You know, the ones you see on the telly sitting around the pitch watching.

Sindre94 why are we negative. Would you be happy if you'd arranged flight from Norway, hotels, train and match tickets and anything else all to find out that 3 weeks before the game that those muppets at sky have hijackedthe game for their means. That's not negative thats being pi$$ed off.

Should be able to see the full scale 'McCarthy lets play for a point' tactics that night then!
