Great....Still more than we spent on new players for the same period!

That's roughly £15,500 per home league game, which is getting on for £1 per ticket sold.

We have signed fewer players. But we knew that, hence the woeful squad size.

Thats £356,700 too much in my book. Every single penny paid to agents grates with me.

Couldn't agree more BotesdaleBlue - if a player is unable to negotiate his own terms then don't sign him!

The Bosman ruling really was one of the worst things to have happened, without that, these greedy negotiating players agents wouldn't probably be in existence today.

They are a CANCER which football has to live with.

Should not the player pay their own agent's fee for fixing them up?

I agree woodford. Surely they can spare it out of any wages or bonuses they get.....

Agents are a big reason why Football's being ruined by money! They simppy want what's best for themselves.

Specific agents annoy me. Jonathan Barnett for instance.

Maybe Richard Wright now wishes that Barnett's release clause hadn't been put in place when he signed his final Ipswich contract before being sold to Arsenal.

But there is a role for agents.

On the one hand it's not best for players to ring round clubs to try and sell their services. It would take too much time. But then it should be the players that pay.

But it can also be good for clubs. Eg when we wanted to get rid of JET spending 20-50k to get him off the books and free up funds for someone was probably worthwhile. eg if that frees up funds to help bring in someone like Johnny Williams for an injury. Then I'm all for it.

Think too many people don't realise that agents have an important part to play in deal making and are required.

I don't think negotiations would be fair for boys of 17 years old from Ipswich going up against someone of Evans' business experience - they'd get shafted.

Also, not really fair for players to pay them directly out of earnings as that money will end up being taxed as income twice.
