Murphy Could Win Cap Wednesday, 3rd Sep 2014 09:21 Striker Daryl Murphy will be hoping to win his 12th full international cap this evening when the Republic of Ireland take on Oman in a friendly at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin (Premier Sports 7pm, KO 7.45pm). The Blues frontman is likely to be on the bench for Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane’s side, who play Georgia in Tbilisi in their opening Euro 2016 qualifying game on Sunday. Loanee Town striker Conor Sammon was included in the provisional 36-man squad, but was left out of the reduced 27-man party, however, the Dubliner remains on standby. Ex-Blue Jon Walters is in the squad. "Right-back Elliott Hewitt, 20, is with Geraint Williams’s Welsh U21s, who face Finland in Turku on Friday and then Lithuania in Alytus next Tuesday in their final Euro 2015 qualifiers. Wales are currently fourth in their group and out of running for qualification. Hewitt has previously won nine U21 caps. Christophe Berra has been withdrawn from the Scotland squad facing Germany in their opening Euro 2016 qualifier on Sunday, due to a knee injury.
