Patterson Wins Cap as Sub
Saturday, 6th Sep 2014 20:27

Academy midfielder Monty Patterson won his eighth New Zealand U20 cap when he came on as a 74th minute sub as the Junior All Whites beat Morocco 3-1 at a four-team tournament in Qatar.

Patterson was a late addition to the squad, joining up in time to start their second game, a 1-0 defeat to Chile.

The 17-year-old joined the academy as a full-time scholar this summer and has already featured for the U21s.

Meanwhile, striker Jack Marriott missed loan side Carlisle’s 4-4 home draw with AFC Wimbledon having picked up a dead leg.

Elsewhere, Freddie Veseli was in the Port Vale side which lost 3-1 at Peterborough United.
