Loan Duo On Target In Defeats
Wednesday, 17th Sep 2014 00:15

Blues duo Frank Nouble and Anthony Wordsworth were both on target as their loan sides were defeated on Tuesday evening.

Nouble netted his second goal in three games for Coventry in the 17th minute as the 10-man Sky Blues - Reda Johnson was dismissed with more than an hour remaining - lost 2-1 at Scunthorpe in League One.

Wordsworth put Rotherham in front via a freekick, his first goal for the Millers in his second start for the Championship new boys, but he and fellow Blues loanee Paul Taylor were also on the losing side, Joe Mason netting a hat-trick for Bolton as they came from behind to win 3-2.

Elsewhere, Freddie Veseli played the full 90 minutes as Port Vale - who are second bottom of League One - lost 3-0 at home to table-toppers Bristol City.

Jack Marriott was an unused sub as League Two table-proppers Carlisle United lost 1-0 at Shrewsbury.

Jack Willbye played the first 77 minutes of Bury Town’s 2-1 home victory over Billericay Town, having joined the Ryman League Premier Division on a month’s loan earlier today.

Meanwhile, Byron Lawrence, who left Town for Colchester early this month, made his debut for the U’s when he came on as a 76th minute sub in their 3-2 home defeat to Sheffield United.

......... so much for MM caring about where his young players go on loan - awful situation for Jack Marriot.

At least the other two are getting games, and appear to be enjoying and benefitting from their respective loans.
