Marriott Nets on Third Woking Debut
Sunday, 28th Sep 2014 14:10

Striker Jack Marriott netted on his third debut for loan club Woking but was on the losing side as the Cards were defeated 3-2 at home to Kidderminster in the Vanarama Conference on Saturday.

The 20-year-old, who joined Woking until January 4th on Thursday having spent two spells at the Kingfield Stadium last season, headed home two minutes from time as his team staged a late fightback.

Elsewhere, Anthony Wordsworth and Paul Taylor were ineligible as their loan club Rotherham lost 2-0 at Town.

Frank Nouble missed Coventry City’s 2-0 home defeat to Preston North End due to a groin strain.

Freddie Veseli was similarly absent for Port Vale’s 1-1 draw at Bradford with a rib injury which is likely to sideline him for around another 10 days.

Young midfielder Jack Willbye was in the Bury Town side which lost 2-1 at home to Peacehaven and Telscombe in the Ryman League Premier Division.

Marriot of fire strikes again. I would like to see him at a league 1 club playing regular football. I wonder if Coventry know he is a better prospect than Nouble?
