Warnock: Williams Has Future at Palace Thursday, 2nd Oct 2014 10:26
Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has told Jonny Williams that there's no chance of him leaving Selhurst Park on a permanent basis.
The 20-year-old rejoined the Blues on a 93-day loan on Monday - although the Eagles can recall him at 24 hours' notice after 28 days - and scored a second debut goal in the 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday the following day.
“It was a great start for him on Tuesday and I texted him the morning after to say ‘well done’, but he came off injured afterwards,” Warnock told the Croydon Advertiser.
“There were other clubs in for him but I want him to play in the hole and that’s where he needs to be under Mick McCarthy.
“I’ve told Jonny there is no chance of him leaving Palace permanently and we can have him back after 28 days.”
The Wales international, who is expected to be fine for Sunday's game at Nottingham Forest despite suffering a minor groin problem at Hillsborough, is contracted to the Eagles until 2018 and Warnock says he sees him as a “very important player in the long term”.
Meanwhile, midfielder Luke Hyam appears to be a doubt ahead of the visit to the City Ground having tweeted: "I'm in such a bad mood when I'm injured."

Comments such as this are a standard negotiating tactic. If Jonny returns to Palace, well, they loved him anyway and he wasn't going away permanently. If he does leave, they can command a full price for a player who is "a very important player" to them.
I seem to remember that Williams himself has stated that he wants to stay at Palace and play in the Premiership for them. But them again, if they are relegated, we are promoted... You nerver know. And money, if not always at least most of the time talks.
What else is Warnock going to say? Money talks. McCarthy also said one day that there is no way we are bringing in any more players, the next day Williams was here!
Given he has over 3.5 years left on his Palace contract, he's not going anywhere apart from on loan or for a massive fee.
Reality is more likely that he will play this year in the championship on loan, hopefully all for us, unless Palace suffer an injury.
If Palace come down, they will only sell to Prem. If they stay up and he's got better they'll keep him, otherwise they will listen to bids or loan again. Could be a bit like Murphy in that regard.
