Senior Quintet and Trialist Start for U21s

Cameron Stewart, Tommy Smith, Bartosz Bialkowski, Balint Bajner and Alex Henshall all start for the U21s in their U21 Premier League Cup tie against Swansea City at Portman Road (KO 7pm).

The Blues side also includes trialist left-back George Wells, 18, who is currently with Ryman Premier League side Hampton and Richmond having previously been with Chelsea and QPR’s youth set-ups.

U21s: Bialkowski, Robinson, Wells, Benyu, Sowunmi, T Smith, Stewart, Clarke (c), McQueen, Bajner, Henshall. Subs: Crowe, Kenlock, McLoughlin, Galvin, Patterson.

Swansea: Davies, Obeng, Hanley, H Jones (c), Gogic, Gallipuoco, Hedges, March, Samuel, Copp, Gorre. Subs: J Jones, Zabret, Francis, Maric, Cullen.

Really is a breath of Fresh air to see Town dipping in to the Lower leagues for potential signings!! Possible new Mings? Theres some cracking talent waiting at these clubs that just need a second chance!!

No Ambrose or Collison. What was the point of signing them if they are not getting any game time even for the under 21s

Agree, Ambrose looked shocking when he came on v Wigan, can't see him getting near the first team. Collison signing was just odd.

I reckon Ambrose/Collison were/are safety net signings of incase Jonny Williams didn't come/may be recalled

Agreed, BlueBeat. The experience of Ambrose will also be useful to have around the training pitch, for our younger midfielders.

Stewart, Smith, Bialkowski and Bajner are the four over 21's alowed under the rules. We can't have any more even on the bench. MM complained about the system last season but he can only field the 4 no matter what and I guess these 4 are closer to starting spots in his opinion.
