Williams Wins Cap as Wales Draw
Friday, 10th Oct 2014 22:16

Blues loanee Jonny Williams started and won his seventh full cap as Wales drew 0-0 with Bosnia-Herzegovina in their second Euro 2016 qualifier in Cardiff this evening.

The 21-year-old, who is with Town for 93 days from Crystal Palace, was replaced after 83 minutes having impressed. One-time Blues loanee Asmir Begovic was in goal for the visitors.

Wales and Williams currently top their group and face Cyprus in Cardiff on Monday.

Set for international action on Saturday are Daryl Murphy, who is with the Republic of Ireland squad who face Gibraltar in Dublin (Sky Sports HD3/3 4.45pm), and Christophe Berra, who is with Scotland ahead of their qualifier with Georgia at Ibrox (Sky Sports HD5/5 4pm).

Full-back Jonny Parr received a late call into the Norway squad but remained at home due to a groin problem.

They had a story about it @runningout , wasn't a great match, at one point I could have cried as Williams looked like he got ligament damage and they got the stretcher out, then he got up and started running haha

Thought it was a very entertaining 0-0.
Jonny had a decent game but the ref was a right tool..some of the challenges by the Bosnian's particularly on Jonny were scandalous.
Hope he's fit for monday & us next weekend.

As long as Jonny comes back safe and sound, good luck to him. Would rather he didn't play, but playing for your country is a great honour ( even if that country is Wales ).

Wales manager Chris Coleman has said Jonny Williams is out for Wales next game on Monday against Cyprus with an injury, hope it's not too bad but he may be out for a couple of weeks as he got kicked all over the place
