Murphy Out of Ireland Trip Monday, 13th Oct 2014 19:22 Town striker Daryl Murphy has been forced out of the Republic of Ireland’s Euro 2016 qualifier in Germany on Tuesday due to the achilles injury he suffered in Saturday’s 7-0 victory over Gibraltar. Murphy, who won his 13th full cap as a sub against the Gibraltarians, wasn’t on the flight to Gelsenkirchen earlier today and is returning to Town. The injury isn't believed to be serious. Yesterday, loanee Jonny Williams was ruled out of the Wales squad for tonight's game against Cyprus. Manager Mick McCarthy told the club site: “Murph has a sore achilles and Jonny got kicked from pillar to post. “He has a sore ankle and a sore calf and we will know how bad he and Murph are when we see them tomorrow. Fingers crossed, they are not too bad.” Christophe Berra is now the only Town player currently away on international duty with Scotland facing Poland - who beat World Cup holders Germany 2-0 on Saturday - in Warsaw on Tuesday.
