another 2 points lost in added time.paid the penalty for being negative last 15 mins.unless they were injured it was a big mistake to take off williams and bru,we then lost momentem and that cost us.thought hunt stayed on pitch far to long.

Overall Ipswich Town deserved to take all 3 points from this game. Aside from a couple of half chances they were completely in control and could have buried Blackburn. Whilst McGoldrick scored a great free kick I am more concerned with the 1on 1 he didn't score. From the moment he was through he didn't look like he believed he would score and from your so called top striker is worrying.
The other area of real concern is MMs constant need to make substitutions that don't need to be made which ultimately interfere with how the team are playing. Williams was on fire and so long as Town didn't try to sit back this game was won.
Another 2 points surrendered.

Heading North after spending the night in Ipswich so have had a few hours to digest the second injury time disappointment in a row. I was not sure whether a match report of forum post fitted best, but here goes. Frustration was the key word, as it was at Forest as the seeming MM desire to spend the last 10 to 15 minutes defending came to the fore again. Set against what Mick has achieved here, there is the seeming desire to stick with the same old players, we had huffed and puffed in the first half with Sammon in particular a fish out of water.....and precious little creativity, howeve the second half was a different matter with us going for it and Sammon upping his match rating from a 3 to around 7 with some desire and not a small turn of speed. McGoldricl still does not look fit, but is still capable of inspiring all around him , perhaps if fully fit he may have buried the shot which crashed back off the post. What concerns me, and frustrates however is the substitutions - we were heading for 3 points at Forest when the formation was changed and we went negative only to concede, and yesterday against 10 men we just lost impetus when Williams and then Bru (my man of the match along with Parr) was removed. Whilst not bemoaning subs, I do bemoan why Tabb and Anderson were brought on ahead of the exciting and attacking Henshall or even Ambrose..., and why does MM show blind loyalty to Hunt who has never really done much for us. This game was there for the taking, not just 3 points but we should have been going for goal difference boosting too. As I see it Henshall would have caused havoc wide. It safe old Mick once more costing us points. It is interesting he refers to us getting a point at Birmingham, but I was there and that came about because we went for ATTACKING subs on that night.

Gerken - Made a good save but still needs to command his box and shout at his defence but wasn't really troubled

Parr - Parr look good and looked his usual solid self and got up the pitch however he pulled up holding his right knee but played on and a couple of times when he could have hit it with his right he pulled it back onto his left cause of the injury.

Smith - Smith had a good game but we missed Chambers cause the right footed and left footed centre back idea was working well.

Berra- I've been really impressed with Berra since he first came through the doors he shows why he can be a premiership defender and it's just his pace that lets him down however he makes up for this by being able to read the game quicker than a lot of strikers.

Mings - Ty has come on leaps and bounds he is improving with every game he plays and he is going to be a key factor for us this season. He's big, strong, physical, quick and can time tackles to perfection and I think we will find it hard to keep hold of him.

Skuse - I didn't think Skuse had his worst game ever but I still don't think he is good enough for this level and for our team.

Sammon - Sammon got better as the game grew on but he is still no where near as good as Murph. However we missed Murph big time our hold up play wasn't good and some of Sammons touch where abysmal.
Hunt - Now the decision to play Hunt without him having any game time this season only for the U21's shocked a lot of fans and I wasn't over impressed his corners were good but he tried to run with the ball and got tackled a lot.

Williams - Everyone's happy to see Joniesta back and him and McGoldrick are going to be brilliant in the team together as they proved but don't forget there is Murph to come back into the side as well however the one moment of Jonny's that really stood out was when he sprinted back towards the Bobby Robson stand and made that slide tackle which could have potentially been a game changer.

McGoldrick - Didz is no where near where he was 12 months ago but he's slowly getting back the confidence that he had last season and getting properly match fit again. However I never thought id say this about Didz but he missed Murph big time Sammon will never be the same player Murph is and Didz can see that and that where he misses Murphs hold up play.

Bru - Bru had a very good game today I thought he was (M.O.T.M) for me personally and I really couldn't understand why Mick took him off it was a stupid piece of management.

Today poor substitutions cost us. The best form of defence is attack, we must learn to defend in the opposition half especially when they only have 10 men and are playing so poorly.

feels like a defeat not a draw,2pts thrown away against ten men because once again we sit back and get negative and sloppy in the last few minutes. until then we were playing well we could and should have put the game beyond Blackburn. thought that Bru had a good game, Salmon was a nuisance but is poor in the air and never gets a shot on target, we missed Murphy but on the bright side unbeaten run continues.
