McCarthy and Milne at PLC AGM
Friday, 14th Nov 2014 18:17

Manager Mick McCarthy and managing director Ian Milne will answer questions from shareholders at the Annual General Meeting of the Ipswich Town PLC, which will take place in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite on Monday 8th December (7.30pm start).

The PLC owns 12.5 per cent of Town and consists of the club's shareholding prior to the takeover seven years ago with Marcus Evans owning the other 87.5 per cent. The meeting is open only to shareholders or their proxies.

Ex-club director Roger Finbow is the current PLC chairman, while the other PLC board members are MD Milne, former joint-MD and current club director Jonathan Symonds, Supporters Club chair Elizabeth Edwards, former club chairman John Kerr and one-time club board members Philip Hope-Cobbold and Richard Moore.

In a letter to shareholders, Finbow has praise for manager McCarthy, his staff and his team: “The club finished last season strongly, a consequence of the sound foundations that were laid by Mick McCarthy and his coaching team in their first season at the club.

“Mick has constructed a settled and recognisable team, including a number of players who are much admired by other clubs and are a delight to watch.

“We have a happy dressing room and a training ground full of contented but ambitious players who understand the high standards set by the manager and strive at all times to exceed them.”

Finbow says that details of the overall club’s accounts will be made available at the meeting: “The summary Financial Highlights of Ipswich Town Football Club Co Limited will be available at the AGM and will also be published in early December on the shareholder section of the club’s website.”

It should mean that we will beat Leeds on 6th because a good result normally precedes these meetings.
