Town have announced that they made payments of £360,618.58 to licensed agents during the period October 1st 2013 to September 30th 2014.

An FA rule requires that payments made to licensed agents must be published on clubs’ websites before the end of November. In the year to September 30th 2013, the Blues made payments of £398,807.69.

In September, the Football League's Agents' Fees Report showed that the Blues spent £356,700 on agents’ fees during the year to June 30th 2014, down from the £551,878 spent in the previous 12 months.

I know our recruitment over the past year has been the best for over a decade, which perhaps softens the blow of this news item, but it still rankles with me that the good money we pay to watch our team finds its way into the hands of agents.

FrowsyArmLarry added 12:38 - Nov 20 @ IAMGOD - agents are basically contract lawyers, who I would expect to be charging £2k per day. What I don't understand is why the clubs have to pay - surely the players should be settling their own legal bills?

Tractorog added 23:38 - Nov 20 I'd rather have the players worrying about football than the negotiations for their next deal, so, to me agents are a necessary evil. I don't think any agent looks at Mick and thinks "oo there is a push over".
