U21s and U18s in Action
Friday, 28th Nov 2014 11:14

New signing Sean St Ledger is set to be amongst the senior players in action for Town’s U21s against Millwall at the Den this evening (KO 7pm).

The 29-year-old played in Monday's 1-0 U21 Premier Cup defeat to Southampton and manager Mick McCarthy says he's not quite ready for first-team involvement having been without a club since leaving Leicester in May.

"He played on Monday night and looked fit and he’ll play on Friday night at Millwall, I think he needs another game and then he’ll be ready to go,” McCarthy said.

With the first team in action at Charlton on Saturday afternoon, the rest of Mark Kennedy’s development squad is likely to be made up of first-year pros and academy players.

Town’s U18s are in action against Bristol City at SGS College, Stoke Gifford on Saturday morning (KO 11am).

The young Blues, who are coached by Gerard Nash and Alan Lee, will be looking to get back to winning ways after last week’s 2-1 defeat at Brentford.

Meanwhile, former Blues boss Roy Keane has left his job as assistant manager of Aston Villa with immediate effect to concentrate on his role as Martin O'Neill's Republic of Ireland assistant.
