Players Begin Christmas Hospital Visits
Tuesday, 9th Dec 2014 17:48

The Town squad and staff started their traditional Christmas hospital visits yesterday, visiting the East Anglia Children’s Hospice and Colchester Hospital.

They will also be at the St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds and West Suffolk Hospital on Tuesday 16th December and the St Elizabeth Hospice and Ipswich Hospital on Thursday 18th December.

The players donated money to pay for presents handed out during the visits with Boots assisted the club and giving a discount, as well as donating all the wrapping paper.

Skipper Luke Chambers, Daryl Murphy and Tyrone Mings were at Boots in Ipswich last week to buy some of the presents and to hold a signing session.

Meanwhile, the East of England Co-op purchased food for both the St Elizabeth and St Nicholas hospices, and donated an iPad to EACH.

Club PR manager, Jade Cole, said: “Both Boots and East of England Co-op have been a great help to us.

“Boots have given us some great discounts on the presents we have been able to buy and the East of England Co-op have shown their generosity again this year.”

Good lads. Would like to see them visit Addenbrooke's too. Plenty of Town fans here!

Lovely to see these lads taking the time to make a difference for the kids in hospital this Christmas. I am sure that they and their parents really appreciate the time you have taken to bring a little joy to them.

Agree with all these comments. And I'm warming to Noel Hunt. Like his brother, he looks like he'll be invaluable to morale whatever he does on the pitch. Love this pic of him and the girl.
